| The NL Social Studies Special Interest Council (NLSSSIC) is a professional learning community dedicated to supporting Social Studies teachers in the province. As a newly formed SIC, its primary goals are to establish a communications network for sharing practical resources while identifying and facilitating PL opportunities in the areas of new curriculum, assessment practices, and teaching strategies. The NLSSSIC is entirely teacher driven and the interim executive is composed of teacher volunteers, most of whom have facilitated PL sessions. You can access the full rationale and proposal here.
