As teachers, we often face obstacles that go beyond the classroom, including issues related to pay, working conditions, retention, school violence, and professional respect. Advocacy for teachers must be a top priority. Our Association must remain active, vociferous, and driven in its pursuit of laws, procedures, and safeguards that guarantee teachers’ personal and professional well-being.
Anyone who knows me will attest to my commitment to improving the teaching profession for everyone involved. The challenges for teachers continue to impair our ability to do what we love: teach. Consequently, I started advocating for the teaching profession more than a decade ago when I joined the NLTA at the branch level. My desire to improve the lives of all teachers has led me to join the association executive and now seek the position of vice president. I want my remaining ten years in this profession to be better than the nearly twenty years I have already spent in it. I will be an outspoken supporter of measures that directly help educators. I’ll collaborate with you to develop a vision for a better educational future and advocate for the improvements that are required. I’m not just looking to solve problems today—I’m focused on building a strong, sustainable association that can adapt to the evolving challenges we face as educators. I want to help us move forward with a clear vision, focused on long-term gains that benefit both teachers and students. I am passionate about this profession and committed to fighting for what’s best for teachers. If you want a Vice President who will actively listen, stand up for your needs, and work tirelessly on your behalf, I ask for your vote. Together, we can make a difference.
