NLTA PRESIDENT-ELECT WILL TAKE OFFICE AUGUST 1, 2017
St. John’s…Dean Ingram has been declared elected as the NLTA President for 2017-19 during the province-wide vote that took place on December 6.
Mr. Ingram is currently a Biology Teacher with the Centre for Distance Learning and Innovation (CDLI) based in Clarenville. He begins his two-year term of office on August 1, 2017.
There was no clear majority for the election of NLTA Vice-President in the province-wide vote. Another ballot will take place December 19th. The two remaining candidates for NLTA Vice-President are Trent Langdon (Mount Pearl) and Jeanne Williams (Goulds).
The positions of NLTA President and Vice-President have been elected by province-wide vote among the NLTA membership since 2003. The remaining members of the 2017-19 Provincial Executive Council will be elected by the delegates to the NLTA Biennial General Meeting to be held April 18-21, 2017 in St. John’s.
