PREMIER’S TASK FORCE
  ON IMPROVING EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES

The Premiers Task Force On Improving Educational Outcomes is examining the Provincial K-12 education system and will make recommendations on an action plan to improve educational outcomes. Visit the website at www.ptfnl.ca. Online surveys will be made available to educators in the near future. The NLTA will be making a presentation to the Task Force and we will keep teachers informed of activities in this area.

Every year NLTA Janeway Day in the Schools provides an opportunity for children in this province to help other children. Since 1986 students and teachers have donated more than $1,085,390 to the Janeway.

Education Week has always been about celebrating education and the importance of learning. The theme for 2017 is “Seeds of Learning: Semer les Graines”. This year’s Opening Ceremonies will take place from Holy Cross School Complex in Eastport on Monday, Feb. 13, 2017.

NLTA Biennial General Meeting 2017

April 18 – 21, 2017
Sheraton Hotel, St. John’s NL

The Biennial General Meeting of the NL Teachers’ Association will be held from April 18-21, 2017 at the Sheraton Hotel in St. John’s. The theme for BGM is “Teachers Change Lives Every Day”. Information regarding the Biennial General Meeting will be provided as it becomes available.
