Better Together: The Report on the Status of Public Education in Newfoundland and Labrador to be released on June 22, 2016

St. John’s, NL…The release of Better Together: The Report on the Status of Public Education in Newfoundland and Labrador will occur on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, 10:30 a.m., at the Avalon and Battery Room, Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland.

In October 2015 the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers’ Association, Memorial University Faculty of Education and the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of School Councils engaged in a broad consultative process: The Panel on the Status of Public Education in Newfoundland and Labrador.  The Panel consisted of Mr. James Dinn, President of the NLTA, Dr. Kirk Anderson, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Ms. Denise Pike, Executive Director of the Federation of School Councils.

The Panel, in considering all of the presentations and submissions, has been aided in a research analysis conducted by Dr. Bruce Sheppard of the Faculty of Education at Memorial University. The report is co-written by Dr. Bruce Sheppard and Dr. Kirk Anderson.

The release will include a short presentation by the authors and panel members.
